Two times Olympic team Gold medalist, McLain Ward is one of the most accomplished riders of the United States always staying in the top of the world ranking. Since his debut as a show jumper at age 14, McLain has been a very strong competitor winning various competitions throughout the United States. He has represented the US in 5 World Cups, 11 FEI World Cup Show Jumping Finals and numerous Nations Cup competitions. His famous mare Sapphire retired in 2014. It is with her that McLain won his two Olympic medals, team Silver at the 2006 WEG as well as the Grand Prix of Spruce Meadows and was second of the 2009 World Cup Final. At the 2014 WEG, Mclain rode his singular chestnut gelding Rothschild with whom he won the team Bronze medal and finished fifth individually.
